Disk Jockey
It was 1987 my first introduction to the Disk Jockey was at my eighth grade dance. I was just thirteen and I was already fascinated. The light show was spectacular for that year. And hearing the music go into transitions had me at aah. My jaw dropped when they went into a fast mix with just using turntables. As soon as I entered highschool being a disk jockey was almost all you wanted to be. Disk Jockey was related to almost everything in highschool you wanted to associate with such as girls, music, and being popular.
Disk Jockey is a person who plays and announces popular music. There’s also other definitions like a person who conducts radio broadcasting and play records at a disco tech. The great thing about being a Disk Jockey is your well informed about the top 100 on the billboard charts. You also gain to be well coordinated with your hands. And also age factor is not an issue if you want to be a disk jockey. To be a DJ can be entertaning itself and a rewarding hobby. 
Also you can be paid to party. I remember when I was in highschool I started a group called Sound Beyond Imagination. At first we started to do garage parties and then move on to bigger gigs such as middle school dances and then moved to highschool dances. Back in my day the Disk Jockey started with Technics 1200.
But now not only you can mix with vinyl but other formats as well most Disk Jockey's use cds now and other digital format such as mp3 because they don’t want to lug around a whole crate of CD's.
There’s different kinds of Disk Jockey's but before I start explaining them to you I’m going into a little history of the Disk Jockey. In 1857 Leon Scott invented the phono auto graph the first device to record sound. Emile Berliner founder of gramophone records was the first to commercialize the first record offered to the public. Reginald Fessenden was the first to   radio bradcast audio in history. 1910 was the beginning of radio broadcasting. Christopher Stone was the first radio announcer in 1927 for the BBC radio station. The first person who coined the term disk jockey was Walter Winchell. In the mid 80s Mtv generation the disk jockey replaced the band for the mainstream audience. The 80s were the best years because that’s when the  club music came out New wave and a lot of great music was compiled in the 80s. The Filipino community had a lot to offer in disk Jockey field because a lot of mobile djs were Filipino. Back in the 80s there were a lot of showcases like Imagine that were primarily dominated by the Filipino. There were groups like Unlimited Sounds, Style Beyond Compare, Dynamic Sounds, Ultimate Creations, and Ladda Sounds.
There are different kind  of disk jockeys you could be into radio who broadcast across radio waves AM/FM radio. 
You could be a Club DJ. Using several turntables or cd deck select music in a club. The whole being of a club disk jockey is adding flare to the track to get the people to dance. When they mix they use beat matching and smooth transitions. 
Mobile Disk Jockey is someone who travels with a sound system. There’s a lot of reasons people want to be a disk jockey. You can find your own reason. You should love what you do.
